Environmental Sustainable Design endeavours to reduce the impacts of the construction and the use of buildings on the natural environment. In addition to improving the comfort of inhabitants. When purchasing an existing house, renovating or building a new home, there are many simple design principles that enhance the sustainability of a home.
Therefore, projects have been given out to us to further understand the true meaning of environmental sustainable design. Here are the projects that we have done through this semester:-
About Environmental Sustainable Design
Project 1A : Nature and Us Essay
Environmental issues have become a great concern for mankind at present time as these issues are affecting and will affect earth and us badly. As such, there are quite a number of environmentalists or movement either government or non-governmental trying and fight the injustice human commit towards earth. As part of that initiative this project intends to encourage the architecture students to do their part by producing a journal that reflects these concerns and to part of the change for a better world with their creative thoughts.
Objectives Of This Project
Firstly, to increase awareness of current environmental issues locally and globally. Secondly, to explore the local and global context of growth and therefore realizing the relationship between growth and its impact on the environment.
Task of This Project
We will be exploring and writing on environmental issues relating it to the people and built environment. Also, drawing inspiration from the activities carried out during your site exploration. Our reflective essay must examine and observe the progress of our individual experience. Since the reflective essay is built upon personal experience and knowledge gained, we have the liberty of being as creative as necessary. At the same time, we must not let a focus on creativity take precedence over the important task of proving to our reader how you have grown to understand the fine balance between nature and us.

Relating it back to Project 1A, this project also emphasis on the environmental issues that have become a great concern for mankind. We can see many posters around city area being displayed publicly and also in buildings like government buildings. As such, there are quite a number of environmentalists or movement either government or non-governmental trying and fight the injustice human commit towards earth by displaying posters about the environment.
Task of This Project
We are to produce an A1 size colored poster suitable for exhibition on creating environmental awareness in general public. Ides, images and content for our poster must be able to be linked to your exploration on the environmental issues and reflection. Not to forget, the poster must also be creative, original and have strong environmental message.

Learning Outcomes of Project 1A and Project 1B
Firstly, we have managed to recognized the effect of growth on the environment (nature and environment). Furthermore, we even had the opportunity to do a research and also to explore the concept of environmental and ecological sustainability. Next, exemplifying creativity in attempting to explore the current environmental circumstances. Last but not least, we also learnt how to recognize different roles and responsibility of an architect towards the environment and society.
